Mobile Manager Pro empowers technicians to literally meet customers at their vehicles to retrieve personal and vehicle-specific information and start a new work order.

Within seconds, the wireless tool searches your shop management system’s database for the customer and identifies every vehicle he or she has brought into the shop. If the customer is bringing a new vehicle, it can be added quickly and easily on the tablet or mobile device.

From there, technicians can assign an estimate number and begin the work order, type in the odometer reading, assign the work to a specific technician and, if necessary, change statuses and adjust the vehicle completion promise time.

To input the vehicle information – including make, model and year – technicians can either use the device to scan the VIN from the doorjamb. Another option is to type in the license plate number and state of residence and let the software decode the license plate, providing all of the needed vehicle information.

The customer’s vehicle information transmits automatically into your shop management system’s database, eliminating the possibility of typographical errors and the need to re-enter data into your system later.

To make it easier for shop personnel to identify the customer’s vehicle, we highly recommend adding the vehicle color. Or, better yet, snap a photo of the photo vehicle to upload into the database.

Once the vehicle information is input, technicians can go to the customer field on the tablet and add symptoms, notes and canned jobs. All of this information automatically transmits into the database.

As a final step, customers can use the tablet to sign and authorize the work. We highly recommend that shops conduct a multi-point safety inspection on every vehicle.
